“The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy.”

So here's my first attempt at a beauty related post and it's going to be a long one! (exciting times eh?) I'm starting off simple and I'm going to show you some of my favourite summer products. Despite being a huge beauty addict I have zero make up training so I was kind of hesitant about putting my beauty opinions out of the internet. Anyhow this is such a cute and girly post so I thought I would just have a go. I dragged my duvet outside in the sun to take some pictures and here's the very pink outcome.

Summer is a lovely time of year for make up and beauty. Everything gets lighter, brighter and more natural. Only problem for me is that I don't exactly have the nicest of skin so I rarely get the chance to fully utilise products like bb creams and tinted moisturisers on my skin. I do however get to try out things like highlighters, blushers and eyeshadows!

Let's start with something slightly dull but important - Moisturisers

During summer you show more skin so it's essential that you keep it feeling silky soft for your passionate summer romance (or if you're like me and have sat in watching the whole of Gossip Girl on Netflix for the third time then you got to keep them soft for your own peace of mind). Also, because I'm so pale I'm constantly catching the sun even if I lather mountains of suncream on. I hate getting sunburnt! I have like a minor phobia of it so I'm crazy about my skincare routine during the summer.

So here are 3 moisturisers that I have been loving.

1. Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Refreshing Sorbet
- This is gorgeous! I use this in the evening when I have stupidly managed to get a little burnt. It's really moisturising after a day in the sun and kills the redness almost over night. It can be a bit sticky so you have the wait a while before putting clothes on but as it's summer and I'm in no rush during my night time routine this isn't really a problem. The product contains aloe vera and pomegranate extract both known for their soothing and moisturising qualities and the scent is deliciously summery. Overall, a really nice after sun!

2. The Body Shop Body Butter in Pink Grapefruit
- I love this! The scent is so fresh and summery. I use this in the morning after my shower and as you can see from the picture it has been well loved and is completely gone! The moisturising qualities are good and the product soaks into your skin pretty quickly.

3. The Body Shop Vitamin E Body Butter
- This is my replacement for the pink grapefruit body butter. I found it in my cupboard so decided to give it a go. Apart from the scent it's fairly similar to the grapefruit one with really nice moisturising qualities and it leaves your skin feeling super soft for summer.

Next up is deodorants (again dull but important)

Obviously it gets hotter during the summer and you don't wanna be all stinky when you are out having fun in the sun! I have been loving these two from the Dove Go Fresh range. Both the roll on and spray are in the pomegranate and lemon verbena scent (I have no idea what lemon verbena is but let's just pretend I do). They are antiperspirant deodorants that promise to last 48 hours. Now I'm not sure that's true but they do keep me smelling sweet for the whole day, even after my summer jogs that I have been doing.

Next is hair!

I had my summer hair cut at the start of June but it's already grown back down to well below my boobs. These two have been keeping my hair super shiny and soft this summer. I got The Tangle Teaser recently and I already love it! It's got short and long brush bristles and I think that's why it manages to get rid of all the tugs in your hair. Another hair product I have been loving is the Batise dry shampoo in the blush scent. Everyone knows and loves Batise! It refreshes your hair and adds volume to the roots as well as having a nice floral scent. This is a great dry shampoo that I love to use on a summer's day.

Perfumes!

My favourite summer scent this year has been Daisy by Marc Jacobs.
- This is a favourite of loads of people. My mum got me this in April when she went to Malaga in Spain with her girlfriends. It's a lovely summer scent as it's light and flowery. I have got loads of compliments when wearing this including one from my driving instructor who went and bought it for his girlfriend after he smelt it in the car and loved it. (cute)

Make up time (yay!)

Here are my favourite summer make up picks. They are pretty much all 'drugstore' products as I own almost no high end make up (although I lust after it all the time).

1. Benefit Coralista Blush
- This is a gorgeous summer blush! I love coral colours in summer and I think this particular tone really suits my skin tone. It's the perfect coral mix of pink and orange. It seems to be pretty matte but does have a slight shimmer on your skin that gives you a healthy summer glow.

2. Soap and Glory 'Glow All Out' Luminizing Radiance Face Powder
- I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore this highlighter. It gives you a perfect glow that makes you look so beautiful. I picture wearing this at a candle lit dinner with the product catching the candle light and just being super sexy. However, for those that don't get invited to many sexy candle lit dinners it also works on a day to day basis to add a bit of subtle simmer to your cheeks bones and to make you look like a fairy princess.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Les Ombres in E6 Eau de Rose
- I am a huge fan of L'Oreal make up. I think this may be because all their products are named in French and I think that's just so chic. Anyway, that aside this is actually a lovely eyeshadow quad. The colours are gorgeous and it has a good pigmentation. The colours blend together perfectly and have a lovely simmer to them which makes them very summery and girly. (shimmer seems to be a ongoing summer theme here)

1. L'Oreal Colour Riche in 302 Bose du Rose
- This colour really suits my skin tone and darker hair so I wear it all year round! I wore this lipstick in the winter months with a darker lipgloss to vamp it up a bit but for spring and summer I tend to like a more natural nude lip so I add a lighter lipgloss to brighten it. It's a lovely creamy lipstick with a great colour pay off and staying power.

2. Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Chic
- I have 3 lipgloss from Tanya Burr's make up range and this is bar far my favourite. It's the perfect 'your lips but better' gloss and I have worn it to death recently.

3. Limited Edition Vaseline in Pink Bubbly
- Every girl needs a good vaseline in their make up bag to keep your lips perfectly kissable. This limited edition number adds a bit of glamour to your regular lip balm. It has a slight pink colour with doesn't really show on your lips but looks cute in the tin.

So that's my favourite shimmery and girly summer products! Sorry this has been such a long post but I couldn't leave any of my faves out. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of them.

Lots of love, be safe. xo
